Etsy.com is the world’s most vibrant handmade marketplace. Founded in 2005, Etsy is a community of over 3 million members that actively support one another in the shared goal of offering alternatives to mass-produced objects. We work to highlight the true value of handmade goods and their creators and encourage awareness of the social and environmental implications of production and consumption.
We seek French nationals living in Paris area who are passionate about the local scene for art, design, crafts and all things creative to be a part of a soon-to-be launched French language blog.
Ideal candidates have a passion for arts, crafts, handmade things and the do-it-yourself way of life. We are looking for someone who already shops at craft fairs and vintage stores, follows the trends in this space who routinely blogs, twitters and hangs out on social networks to share their views about this handmade lifestyle.
The position requires candidates to have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English along with the discipline to work in a largely unsupervised manor. We’re looking for approximately 20-25 hours of time per week on an on-going basis beginning in September.
Specific job duties include:
Blogging – write original, translate existing daily blog posts (1-3 per day on average)
Social Networking – post to Twitter, Facebook, other networks as appropriate
Manage user directory – data to be provided
Manage events calendar – organize submissions add events as appropriate
Help with local event planning
Coordinate with regional European office
